Rehabilitation for the elderly is one of the most important parts of the nursing home services. Many individuals in old age suffer from reduced independence due to chronic diseases (such as arthritis, osteoporosis, stroke, Parkinson’s disease or neurological disorders), mobility limitations and muscle weakness. Additionally, speech and swallowing problems or reduced concentration and memory are also common.
In our nursing home, rehabilitation not only helps restore physical abilities but also enhances morale, increases self-confidence and strengthens the sense of independence among the elderly. Rehabilitation programs are designed comprehensively and individually, using the latest therapeutic methods and modern equipment.
Physiotherapy is highly effective for elderly individuals suffering from movement weakness, joint stiffness or chronic pain. Sessions include stretching exercises, corrective movements and specialized techniques (such as infrared therapy or electrotherapy) that improve flexibility, reduce pain, strengthen balance and increase muscle strength. These services not only improve quality of life but also minimize the risk of falls and bone fractures.
The goal of occupational therapy is to restore the ability to perform daily activities. With the support of an occupational therapist, elderly individuals practice tasks such as holding objects, using utensils, dressing or even walking with assistive devices. This service is especially important for elderly individuals who face severe limitations after a stroke or injury.
Speech and swallowing problems are very common among the elderly. Speech therapists use specialized exercises to improve speech clarity, strengthen muscles related to swallowing and enhance communication skills. These services are vital for individuals suffering from stroke, Parkinson’s disease or neurological disorders.
Each elderly individual has unique conditions; therefore, the rehabilitation team first conducts a comprehensive assessment including physical, psychological and cognitive examinations. Then, a personalized program is designed, consisting of physical, mental and speech exercises tailored to each person’s needs. These programs are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure the best progress.
The center is equipped with standard and modern physiotherapy and occupational therapy devices, including:
Thus, rehabilitation services in our nursing home are not limited to treatment only, but represent a comprehensive program for improving the overall quality of life for the elderly.
